DARK FOREST - TEELING WHISKEY BARREL AGED
LIMITED EDITION

CHOCOLATE PORTER

Our Dark Forest English-style porter has been aged in Teeling Whiskey barrels for more than three months. Bittersweet tastes of dark chocolate, coffee, and smoked plums, are met with the sweetness from the whiskey casks, giving this porter a unique nose of oak wood, slight vanilla notes, and a mouth-coating inky finish.

BALTIC PORTER

Inspired by a 19th-century Baltic porter recipe and weighing in at a hefty 9.5%, Catherine the Great is the biggest beer in our range. Heavy notes of smokiness, malted barley, rye-bread, and whiskey, are countered by elegant tastes of dark fruit and coffee beans, making this complex and full-bodied beer a great supporting act to rich red meat dishes, with heavy, dark sauces. This porter’s dry and bitter finish is packed with tastes of dark chocolate and notes of grass. It is also brewed with peated barley, which contributes heavily to its deep, earthy taste.

The tropical, sweet flavour of 100% natural pineapple juice meets the bitterness of our dry hopped, wheat IPA, to give this classic brew a unique Genys edge. Its nose of pineapple, grass, and lemon, gives this beer a well-balanced, energetic, yet light and citrusy body. Its elegantly bitter and fruity finish makes it an ideal beer to be drank at any time, because it’s always 18:00 somewhere in the world.

Unsurprisingly, Trys Vienuoliai or ‘Three Monks’, is inspired by Belgium – the land of Trappist breweries, Tintin, and some of Europe’s least comfortable roads. Using a blend of home-made caramel, lemon zest, and bananas, our very first Belgian Tripel is characterised by its fruity notes, a hearty, syrupy body, and robust flavours of lightly-burnt sugar.

BALTIC PORTER WITH RASPBERRIES

Sutemos is one of the Baltic Porters in our range of beers, and like its limited edition cousin, Catherine the Great, it is also one of the heaviest. Here, sharp raspberry flavours scythe through the rich sweetness of high-quality dark chocolate to give this dessert-like beer a rich, dark fruity aroma, which balance perfectly alongside notes of strong coffee.

Whilst the passion fruit and other exotic fruit give off a punchy aroma, don’t be fooled into thinking that this Florida Style IPA is any kind of sweet beer, because its light, summery, bitterness, followed by a kick of sourness will definitely come as a surprise attack on your palate. We brewed this beer with our mates from the Kingpin Brewery in Poznań, Poland, and as history has shown us, when Lithuania and Poland do something together, the outcome is pretty great.

Our beers are made from water, yeast, barley and hops. Some of our beers have natural fruits, berries or other 100% natural ingredients in it. We don’t use anything we wouldn’t eat ourselves.

Gastro traveller, beer lover, vinyl fanatic and all-round fan of the good life, Lauris is the brains behind the Genys Brewing Co. During a previous life, he was also a well-known DJ in Lithuania but to find out more about that, you’ll have to ask him yourself.
